1. What is your position on the existing LEP for Oxford Falls Valley?
As the convenor of ratepayers.com.au we support direct voting on any issue, by the ratepayers concerned. That outcome then requires us to support that view in Council or parliament. I am not conversant with your communities' view of the current LEP, but perceive your concern like mine is, that we have a small delightful rural precinct that should be protected and retained long term. (It already has some inappropriate development established, in my personal view).
2. A current Major Developments 3A Development Application* exists for Oxford Falls Valley to build an extensive (~1,000 person) 'retirement resort' that has twice been rejected by Warringah Council. Do you support this development? Yes / No
NO and please explain your position in a few words. Please refer to my answer in 1. In addition
3. Do you agree that the locality should be protected against future inappropriate developments?
YES
4. Do you feel that the State Government should be lobbied to return responsibility for this and similar developments to Council?
YES It is quite unsatisfactory that these important developments are removed from the decision making process of the local ratepayer. We are the local ratepayers and residents who have to suffer the disadvantages delivered by a remote and disconnected State government, poorly advised by a disconnected bureaucracy concerned with generating sale funds from crown lands and other community resources, like schools, TAFEs and pristine bushlands.
It will indeed be most interesting to see the difference a change of ministers makes to these problems we face.
