1. What is your position on the existing LEP for Oxford Falls Valley?
It must be implemented and strengthened to protect this unique location.
2. A current Major Developments 3A Development Application* exists for Oxford Falls Valley to build an extensive (~1,000 person) 'retirement resort' that has twice been rejected by Warringah Council. Do you support this development? Yes / No and please explain your position in a few words.
No I do not support this application. It has been tested and found wanting both under the LEP and SEPP (Seniors Living). It will set a dangerous precedent for the area.
3. Do you agree that the locality should be protected against future inappropriate developments?
There should be a moratorium on all development in the Valley , and strict guidelines implemented to protect its status as a buffer to Garigal National Park from urban development.
4. Do you feel that the State Government should be lobbied to return responsibility for this and similar developments to Council?
At last count the former Minister Sartor had 63 of these 3A developments on his table from across NSW. They have been called in to by-pass community consultation and must be returned to Councils immediately!
